One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. If your engine is to lean it's going to quit whether you have on board ign or not. As said above, use the pinch test. At full throttle, it should speed up a bit before it quits. Adj. high needle to set. Do the same with the low idle. Should speed up a bit before it quits. the onboard ign. gives you more leaway in choosing plugs. Just make they're not to hot, as now, your leaving on the batt power as well as the alcohol lighting the glow plug. Very hard on hot plugs. Really, the only time you need the onboard is below 1/4 throttle to help keep the plug lit at very low idle speed. Also easier on the ign batt.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.
