Thanks for posting the info you received from our president. It helps explain the situation. I hope the long-term projects such as web redo, work well for us and increase efficiency.
I say posting those comments has gone a long way towards explaining things therefore the one little item I disagree with is the reluctance to post the info by Richard or anyone in the know. By doing so he has reached probably a few hundred members, at least, if not a few thousand. Much more efficient than a phone call.
Thanks again.

But because I feel this has helped I will continue to suggest we make better use of the internet through web discussion, pdf magazines, etc. More efficient than a phone call. More efficient than a print magazine that can be way out of date by the time the post office delivers it. I'm not criticizing the quality of the magazine, but suggest people in the positions of leadership look at what is happening to the commercial magazines and major newspapers. These changes can have a remarkable influence on our bottom line.

Good to hear from you Bill. Yes, it's the same DL. And I have fond memories about the Dalhousie events, except for the time when the cleaner decided to hurl my Tiger Moth across the room one night to see how well it would fly!

Mac Mag issue

This has been examined repeatedly, and is being examined AGAIN for this coming AGM. We also do have 'language of preference' on our membership forms, so we know who to send which language to.
Hey Keith - off topic here I admit - but has there ever been consideration for sending MAC Mag as a PDF to members? Seems like a very green thing to do.

Although, come to think of it, if we could do a referendum for $15 per person, the federal government might hire us to run theirs!
Hi, everybody. Sorry to resurrect out an old thread, but apparently my post (above) ruffled some feathers of a certain MAAC representative.

So, I'm compelled to clarify that my earlier post (#50 in this thread) was a joke.

I do not know that a member-wide non-proxy referendum costs $15. That was a joke.

I have no inside knowledge that would indicate that the Federal government is seeking to employ us to execute a public referendum. That was just a joke too.

I guess when it comes to humour...

Sorry, Just saw this now.
Yes, it has been looked at. Electronic versions would suffer significant losses in advertising revenue, which would eventually get passed back to the association.
As long as there are SOME printed versions going out, there won't be a significant cost savings in sending PDFs to some.

This has been looked at.

On the green front, we are looking at an option that could have us reducing the paper use by nearly 40%.
