Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

I started painting a week or so ago and doing very slow progress as I have to do it in the shed and the weather as not been really nice lately. I finished assembling the wheel pants yesterday and they are now also waiting for some paint.

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Looking good! Are you planning to paint the fuse and then cut open the windows afterwards?

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

No I did cut the windows before starting the paint. I'm using Top Flite Lustrekote for paint but after doing the outside, I will probably finish the interior with latex.

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Nice build.
I started this same kit with a build thread a while ago.
Didn't finish as I got distracted.
You've inspired me to get back to it.
I'll be watching yours in the meantime.

Andy

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Thanks Andrew. I'm the same, I get easily distracted but I always "eventually" finish my projects...

As for this one, it is going to fly this summer. The white base coat is mostly done and I will start doing the red trim this week. Progress is slow but nevertheless I'm making some progress

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Thanks Mervin,

I am now almost done with the paint and I am very happy with the result so far. The only thing that kind of disappointed me a little is the shade of red from the rattle can. The LustreKote "Missile Red" from Top Flite looks more orange than red but the result looks great anyway.
