Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Hey, is that a GI-Joe 'copter sitting on top of the VHS player?

I had one of those! Ah the memories. Played with it a lot when I was a kid! Joe fit in there perfectly. We had many missions together, ha ha. He got shot a lot but I didn't. hehe.

That's hilarious I had one of those too.
There was a square buttom behind the cockpit below the blade shaft that you pushed in to get the rotor blades to spin. How did I remember that....

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

You are right Wayne, it's a GI-Joe copter Somehow I managed to keep it all those years...I have been thinking for the past couple of years that I should get a GI-Joe for it.

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

That is so cool, yah I remember pushing that black button to get the rotors spinning!

Good times, thanks for the memories. The airplane bug can bite early and hard, can't it?

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Those are 2 toys from my childhood that have survived from the early seventies...

The biplane with Snoopy is probably the one toy airplane that has fueled the most my passion for aviation when I was a kid. I played enough with that thing to the point of burning off the tiny electric motor spinning the prop...

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

Now back to the build,

I left the rudder in the shed last week while painting it and after a scorching hot day, I went to get it to find that the covering had crushed part of the rudder structure at the top of it as the heat probably over shrunk the covering. I had to open the covering to repair and reinforce the structure.

Re: Sig Citabria (Build Log)

I started the re-assembly and installed the fuel tank and engine.
