Thumbs up Re: What spare parts should I buy?

Buy Align original tail rotor shaft, main shaft and feathering shaft
At HK you pay what you get... a low quality steel witch is easy to bent
Except blades and extra battery, I never grabbed on field other spares with me! After crashing I couldn't find the "energy" to fix it and fly right away
Better to have an entire main rotor everytime with you!
Fly below 90 meters and away 8km than ANY airport
Fly with HAM licence and have a spotter if use goggles
Don't fly above people, buildings or beaches and respect others privacy!

Re: What spare parts should I buy?

I've had two smack-ups with my Copter X 450 clone.

Both times replaced:

One Time Each:
T/R blades
Main Shaft
Feathering shaft
Canopy mounts

I replaced them each time with Align stuff as you can just tell the quality is better over the clone stuff.

One other thing to consider is extra dampers as I've been told they can wear out pretty quickly (as in 20 flights) though I'm around 40 and they're holding up pretty well for me so far.

Re: What spare parts should I buy?

Personally I can't really tell the difference between a chinese clone feathering/main shaft and the align ones. Anytime you end up bringing the main blades to a complete stop in a fraction of a second you are going to bend both shafts, I don't think it really matters what kind of steel they are.

I used to break the Align landing gear fairly regularly as well but since buying the Gorilla Gear replacements haven't broken them. I think the new version they use on the Sport fit as well and seem a lot tougher.

My list of must have spares are main blades, tail blade, main shaft, feathering shaft, main gear, and tail boom.

Re: What spare parts should I buy?

Dont be in a hurry to stock parts...You almost always break something that you dont have. lol...you can get Rex parts anywhere. Enjoy them
If you didn't break something , you are not flying hard enough!

Re: What spare parts should I buy?

I agree with X-planker. Parts for the 450 and 250 are very easy to get. Especially for someone living close to the GTAA.

I've gone almost completely Align because my LHS doesn't stock much stuff for my Raptor 50. I like to get back flying asap.
