It was about a buck more than the Topflite I put on it.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.

Now I've heard others say that they went from a Master Air prop to an APC and gained 800 RPM, but the prop I was using was an APC rip off from HobbyKing. I beleive it was called a JM prop. I thought is was so close to an APC that it could not make that much difference. I was almost at the point of removing the engine and trying something bigger.

Today I finally got around to trying an APC on the Supertigre and what a difference. I got it over 11800. I punched the numbers in my thrust calculator and it shows an increase in thrust of about 30% Some day same fuel same plug. I tuned both props to get the max RPM.

Just thought I would share this in the Engines forum in case you feel your engine is also not performing. This could be the cheapest fix yet!

oNE THING you could also look for is to make sure you have a good after market muffler or the stock one. I used the topflite in cowl muffler on a p40 warhawk from hanger 9. I had a 75ST in it it had no power all i could get was like 10 000 on a 12x6 i installed the stock cigar and BAM!!!! 11500RPM actually proped up to a 13x6.

are you using a after market muffler because i think you should still be a little higher than that. My rpm #'s are with the engine set so that when the line is pinched there is a 200-300RPM increase

Re: APC props

Yes I've heard that some pitts mufflers can turn them into real dogs. I am running the stock muffler on mine.

I keep having the same mechanical problem. I've got a loose nut on the transmitter!

Re: APC props

Regardless of brand all props need to be checked. I bought a name brand 3d prop and was shocked to find it was so out of balance both laterally and lengthwise. on further inspection I found the hole had been drilled off center. I haven't found that problem with any other props from the same manufacturer and use their products on most of my aircraft. Just goes to show that nobody is perfect and I shure check them out a little closer now.
