Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Hopefully this google map link works...

http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&q=c...ed=0CBAQ8gEwAA

The field is easily accessible but a little close to the highway for my liking...but the bench to the north and prevailing westerlies give great updrafts.

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

There's another good spot...Kananaskis Village, there is a trail along the top of a bench overlooking the golf course. I've never tried but it would almost certainly be a great spot...a few too many touristos though maybe.

lots of big hills in Canmore, too bad they are covered in trees. thanks for the support Mark.

Strathcona Science Park, Edmonton Alberta

Hills face west. SRCFA and ERCS are clubs in the area, watch fm channels, ch 20 and under are reserved for gliders and slope.

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Great flying out at the Strathcona Science Park in Edmonton. Lots of crows, pelicans, seagulls, and hawks to cruise with . Nothing like going high over the river to do loop de loops and applause from some bike riders that stopped to watch. great fun.

PS. Watch you're step along the hills there are a lot of gopher holes and old fence post holes in the ground around the area(twisted my ankle stepping in one once, use caution).

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

How about Nose Hill Park in Calgary? I wasn't into RC back during my short stay in Calgary, but in hind sight, it seems like it was a good place for slope soaring.
