Beerwiser, if it can grow trees, it ain't steep enough! But then again - trees don't grow on the flat out here - so - oh, never mind!

Give me a call some weekend & I will show you a couple of dandies out here! One faces south & the other north west. Just a we bit of buck brush on the bottom 1/2 of the n/w one.

Ya gotta try slopin man! You'll never go back ta wimmin' !

Taken for granted that you will be there Dale! In fact you can be the tour guide if I can't make it!

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

I do know on the drive down to Coronation there were a few spots that looked like fun. Judging by your pictures the view alone is worth it, let alone a great spot to fly . Its too bad the hill by Vegreville isn't better, I guess everything was better when a person was younger.

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Hi,
I'm going to be at a workshop in Banff in May, would like to say I've done some slope soaring in Alberta. I'll probably have to pack something small. I'd appreciate any tips - and I won't have a car, so accessibility is an issue.

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Just saw your post today! Sorry!

I'm not familliar with the slopes around Banff. I have been through that area a number of times but generally don't stop. That would be about 3 1/2 to 4 hours west of us (yes it is a large province) or I would suggest picking you up & showing you our hills!

Maybe someone in the Calgary area would be able to show you around!

In any case, Welcombe to Alberta and the Great Canadian Rockies! Well worth seeing!

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Pic of myself shamefully retrieving my alula from the bottom of the hill today at the Park. Chapped lips, and a sore stick thumb is a small price to pay for this much fun. A very enjoyable 6 hours flying Saturday morning navigating through a small swarm of alulas.

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

I was going to start a" rate my rack "thread but I though I would post the pic here. I needed to get these things sitting in a more orderly location so on the Easter weekend I spent 60 dollars on 2 small sheets of pegboard, with 12 feet of 3/4by3/4 hemlock as a spacer,4shelf supports for feet and some hooks. I have 9 aircraft on one side and can put more on the other side if needed. Thanks to other posters on RC Canada for inspiration.
