Thanks gentlemen, this is exactly the information I was looking for.

Once I'm all practiced up with my sim, I look forward to perhaps running into you one windy day at the bench.

Do either of you (Bob or DHansen) have better contact information for the SRCFA than an Under Construction webpage? I'd like to know a bit more about the club, as the new ERCS field is a bit of distance for me to drive (compared to the Science Park).

Bob, the current club president is Dan Tymko (dtymko@shaw.ca), he should be able to answer any questions you may have. The next club meeting is on Jan 11 at 7:00 p.m. in Gibbons rm. 2, Millenium Place in Sherwood Park.

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Local full scale soaring club in Edmonton

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to fly in a sailplane? If words such as "freedom", "solitude", and "quiet" come to mind, you would be right!

Re: Alberta Slope Patrol guide

Tried out a slope yesterday that I have had my eye on for a few years. It's out here between Consort & Provost, about 1.5 miles west of Sounding Lake on the Gooseberry Lake road.

Long south facing slope with a nice flat aproach, worked nicely in a 20km wind with a 2 meter polyhedrial glider. Not quite as good as the one in the Nuetral Hills north of Consort but very usable just the same!

Could give more detailed directions if anyone was interested.
