Hobby King!!! I am just warning everyone that their service deserves an F in my book. I have place 2 orders with them over $400 and had horrible experiences both times. One of them; my warning is if they don't have something in stock; do not place your order as backorder. They will give you a credit rather than a refund. The phone number listed on their site is to make their service looks good. It is impossible to talk to anyone. When I email them regarding an order, I did not even get a response. If you look at their return policy (if they even honor it) you have to ship the item back to them at your expense and pay for another shipping fee to get it back to you. So before you try to save a few bucks, think about the potential headache you have to deal with.
In comparison, I have dealt with www.himodel.com and their service is way beyond expectation.

Re: Hobby King

I have had no trouble dealing with Hobbyking. I have yet to get a device dead on arrival.

I placed an order and changed my mind about it. Called the number in the evening which is there morning and had it cancelled right away. I was given a refund not a credit and then placed a new order.

Re: Hobby King

Now on the other hand I have bought lots of stuff from HK even had some warranty on two ESC that they said would take 8s and fried They replaced them and shipped them back to me. Anytime you place an order and an item is B/O it will warn you. They recomend not placing an order with a B/O item as it will tie up the whole order. So sorry about your bad experience though

Re: Hobby King

I haven't had any problem with them either, even backorders have been quick. Why bother trying to call? There is no one there that speaks understandable english anyway. Even if you talked to someone all they get is the same checker robot or backorder status's you do.

Re: Hobby King

HK is awesome once you learn the game.
I've been shopping with them maybe 6 years and have been through every name change they had since they had e-bay store.
I've learned to be patient and to order 3 weeks before I need it and not to order backorders. So far so good
They do take care of warranty, merchandise usually ok to good quality. If you read the forum there are 2 complaints.. one is slow to ship around holidays, to know that and add extra 2 weeks for your order and #2, don't order backorders.
If you do that, you will be happy camper.

Re: Hobby King

I felt the same way in the beginning, sort of.

My first order was a big one. i think it was more being nervous or apprehensive than unsatisfied.
The order did take a while, or at least I thought it was as I didn't understand how their system worked.
Now, i am about to hit my 20th order and have spent well over a thousand dollars.
If you do what the others have said, Hobby King is great.

One other thing I do is if an item is on back order. I order it all by itself. The shipping is so low for the single item that I just let the order sit there until it comes back in stock, and order the other stuff seperately that is in stock.

Re: Hobby King

I've just added up how much I've spent there in the last year and a half! OMG! I won't say, but it was a tonne! Granted, I started out flying electrics anywhere from 3s to 12s, so things add up really fast. It's been almost all batteries, motors, and ESCs, chargers, etc. Wow, I'm almost an addict. Glad I'm almost out of electrics, now!

I've never really had any big problems ordering from them. I've only had to e-mail them once to see what was up when I had an order that I thought was taking too long. Other than that, no issues at all.

Re: Hobby King

There simpley the best there is out there. Ill bet you dont mind paying 1/3 of the regular cost for most products. So what if they may have the smallest glitch from time to time. Still worth the wait.

Re: Hobby King

I have 20 orders with the king and have no issues.

Even on back order stuff, I have always got mine in a reasonable time frame.
