Re: new to this

hello and welcome my friend You are joining a great hobby.

A few things to review with you though... you say you want a "Rock Crawler"

There is a difference between a rock crawler and a "Trail" crawler. The Axial SCX10 is a Trail Crawler. Great scale realism looks, but not really used for Rock crawling.

Rock crawlers are more low-down competition types of RC's build specifically for climbing steep inclines with plenty of grip for rocks. For example.. if you were still looking at the Axial brand.. search google for Axial Scorpion Rock Crawler - Then Search for Axial SCX10.

You will see they are quite different in models.. as they are geared towards different applications.

Once you find out if you want to build a scale "realistic" looking Trail mudding truck, or you Want to tackle a pile of rocks.. - then you will be one step closer to choosing the right vehicle for your needs..

You are welcome to check out my youtube channel or website for comparative videos. My youtube channel is

hope that helps!
