I have a HK 500 with an 80 amp ESC and the proper motor for it. Can I use a 3C arrangement instead of a 6C arrangement for lipo batteries? I figure it will make the run time shorter but will it make the heli more docile with 3C lipo. Or is this just a bad idea and if so I will wire my 3C batteries in series and make two 6C batteries so to speak. My question is has anyone ever run one of these on 3 cells? the 500 size JR runs on three cells does anyone have any experience on those?

You'll need to set your 3S batteries up in series to effectively make a 6S battery to fly.

Remember the "C" rating is a function of the multiple of the overall capacity of the battery when referring to charging or discharging.
