Whats Going On ??

I have a MVVS 35 cc engine that will not run. I bought on RC Canada and the fellow told me he left the ignition on for a lengthy period and burned out the regular ignition.
He then replaced it with a zenoha ignition and said it run fine.

I tried to run today and here is what happened
The fellow run the engine and on the second run left the ignition on for an hour or so. (burnt out origenale ignition )
He said he replaced it with a Zenoha ignition and it ran OK. ( his word)
Well 1 month later I tried to start and here is what's happening.

First start fired up rightaway for to 8 seconds .
Second attempt fired up for a couple of seconds.
Third plus attempts --- nothing .
I have spark can see it when flipping over
Fuel looks like its coming up the fuel line.
Tried to deposit fuel directly into plug outlet (did not fire)
All input will be gratefully accepted.

Re: Whats Going On ??

well first thing is to replace the plug. I had a similar issue on a SPE 26, would fire and kick but wouldnt run, I tried everything, was getting frustrated and it had a nice spark on the plug, but finally I replaced it and it started first flip.... althought the plug looks fine, most of the time it is the culprit....

Re: Whats Going On ??

Second the opinion on the plug. I have seen more than one instance where the plug looked perfect checking as you described, only to have a not start or quick die off when attempting a run.

Wildly different conditions exist between you testing the plug outside the motor and what happens when under compression and load.
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!

Re: Whats Going On ??

I had the very SAME conditions , on the very same engine . This is a good engine . The problem I had was the timeing , it must be within 28 to 30 degrees BTC . Hard to start , run for a few seconds and die , overheat . If you need info on checking the timeing I will pass it on to you .

Don,t fret , .............. these engines are good .
