I'm 25 by the way... haven't been a minor for quite awhile. The firearms hobby took up a lot of the money in the past few years, and is a higher priority than the planes anyway.
About the battery... the voltage reading on the transmitter was well within safe flying limits, beyond that I can't say, I wasn't getting any warnings as the Transmitter says I should have.
Concerning the plane, a new prop, spinner and windshield and it's good as new.
I wonder how much he would be saving by not going to a MAAC santioned field had there been a claim for damage?
