DX7 Flap Programming Question

Just did a second flight on my friends AT6 this evening and am still coming to grips with a programming issue we cannot resolve.
There is a flap/throttle intermix that allows the throttle to initiate flap deployment. This is covered in the manual. However, what is not is a reverse relationship that has flap deployment with a 3 position switch also dropping the throttle. Even inhibiting that intermix does not cancel the throttle drop with flaps.
Don't want the flaps determining my available throttle, since an aborted landing would mean I have to retract flaps at the worst possible time to get enough power to climb out again.
Anyone know what the heck programming schedule this is found in and how to disable this feature?
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!
