night flying

I have decided that I need a few more irons in the fire so I plan to try some night flying. The model will be an 84" Sal Taibi Powerhouse, a 1936 design. A real floater with light wind loading and for obvious reasons going to power it with an electric motor.
The model is framed and final sanding completed so now with some help from a couple of guy's here, we will be loading her up with LEDs within the airframe. Once everything checks out I plan to cover the model in transparent coloured Monocote. The good stuff from years ago
Will keep you posted as things progress, should be fun!

ps here is a finished model for daytime flying.

Re: night flying

Should be good. Did a bit of night flying last year. The only negative is the mosquitoes, they took a lot of the fun out of it for me. Maybe we will have a hot dry summer with less mosquitoes, it would love to do some more this year!
