My first build was the 4*40....3 years ago. Covered it in monokote. First flight this year after not flying at all this year in a high wind and the little bugger caught a wing tip. Wing damage??? cracked the leading edge right at the tip.....fuselage.....snapped in half. Repaired 2 weeks later and back in the air better than it was.....

Don't waste time adding stuff it don't need!!!

You Too?? first 4*40 went in the same way...

Martin, don't bother with the extra sheeting on the LE, they are strong enough, and once covered they stiffen up.

good luck and happy landings...Bill

Re: Sig 4 star 40

Hey guys,

I won a Sig 4 star 40 in a draw at my club meeting, and Iím gettin ready to set it up (itís an ARF ).

Do you think an OS FS-52 would be OK in this aircraft? Iím not hell bent on performance, but I wouldnít want to go below the power output the model is designed for, which is a .40 sized two stroke.

The thing is, I have this OS FS-52 kicking around the garage and it needs a home.

If it helps to make a recommendation, I have an OS FS-56 in the Great Planes Cherokee, which is a heavier plane overall (I think), and I consider the performance of that model just fine.
