Andrew, I have no doubt that the wings were flexing, they flex if you pick the airplane up by the wing tips, but there were absolutely no stress cracks in the wings, formers, ribs, along the seams, anywhere. I looked it over carefully, Al Watson looked them over carefully, Dean looked at them and all was good.
A wing really should have some flex to it, completely rigid and they would probably fail. Whether or not they were flexing more than normal I don't know, I would think I would see some stress cracks somewhere if they were. I know of Kingcats flying with P200's, one with an Olympus, and I have never heard of a Kingcat folding it's wings, so I suspect the flexing was normal, but because I'm flying it faster than most, people are probably looking for it more. Probably also in part because last year we watched Steve's Elan flex the wings severely during flight, nothing failed, but we're now much more aware of the wing flex in high G turns.
The Kingcat has not changed it's flying feel, there are no funny oscillations coming out of a turn or roll, so I'm not to concerned about it, but I will definitely keep a closer eye on it in the future.
