I can't complain too much down here (Medicine Hat). I've had several nice flying days this spring. Not as many as usual because of rain/wind, but a few none the less.

Re: Getting frustrated.......

Although I would have liked to get out and do a bit more flying, I just can't knock having the needed rain here. I live close to the Niagara Escarpment and the grape crops are two weeks ahead of schedule for the first time in many years as are other crops.

Actually I have been out flying more this year already than I have the two previous years combined. Personally, I think the wind has been more of a problem than has the rain. It seems that when the rain stops the wind picks up so at least I am getting some building time and needed home maintenance in, which is always good! At least, that's what my wife says!

Well, it's only mid June so there are some good days ahead. Just gotta make sure I'm ready when the weather is. Happy flying my friends.

Re: Getting frustrated.......

SO I finally got a good morning on Saturday - no work, perfect weather, a few hours before the kids activities start up - so I head to the field with my Pitts and new Cap 232. Had a nice flight with the Pitts, predictable as always . Then I maiden the Cap 232...3 minutes in the servos all lock up and it piles in from 250 feet, obliterated.

I pick up the pieces and decide to take the Pitts up again, and not worry about the Cap. As I come in for landing, my depth perception gets the best of me (again) and it goes down in a ditch that I thought I had cleared by 50 feet. Thankfully, aside from the LG getting bowed, she's OK and already repaired.

Ahhh, the ups and downs of rc flying...

Re: Getting frustrated.......

That's a shame Dean. When it rains, it pours!!!!
Get back on the bike and keep riding... don't give up!!

We finally had a nice day out here today also. Made it out for about 8 hours of great flying with my brother Travis. I flew my Cessna Ag Wagon, Super Chipmunk, Cub, Tiger 60, Burrito, Tango, SPAD Combat Plane, and my little electric Herr Extra...Trav flew his Super Chipmunk, SSE with side force generators, Mojo, and Showtime 90.

No casualties to report, other than some sunburn!

You can fly Hitec or use the other "low tech" stuff!!
