I have for sale a Reaction 54 turbine trainer, I will list everything that it comes with.
-8411's on both rudder and elevator w/ SWB servo arms
-8411's for the flaps
-8611A's for ailerons
Both the aileron and flap servos come with JR aluminum servo arms, Titanium turnbuckles, dual aluminum control horns, aluminum ball links and custom made aluminum backing plates
-P-60 and P-70 mounts
-Jet Tech kevlar fuel tank
-Duralite Evolution Powerbox
-JR R1221 2.4 Rx
-2 Duralite 2900 Mah, 7.4 V Batts
-Jet 1A Oleo's, wheels and brakes w/ extra brake pads ( all trailing link for grass operation)
-MAP series 500 retracts
-Jet tronics dual action retract valve
-Jet tronics single action brake valve
-10 RC jet DVD's
This bird is pretty much built but does need some work to complete, it is built very very well, I am a journeyman machinist and have built a custom aluminum dihedral bracket (see pics) that bolts the wings together and uses carbon fiber tubes instead of the stock cardboard tubes to run all of the servo and air lines... it is SOLIDLY built.
It has 3/32 carbon fiber plate laminated to a 1/4" aircraft ply for the retract mount plates, as well the ribs at the retract location are built with 1/8 aircraft ply instead of the stock balsa( built for hard landings).
I have also replaced the upper and lower main spars in the wing with .125 X .5 carbon flat bar laminated with a .125" X .5" spruce spars to make the wing even more rigid.
I have made invisible knuckle hinges on all surfaces but the flaps.
The servos in the wing have been sunk into the wing instead of them being surface mounted as in the plans.
All control surfaces have been glassed.
WING IS READY TO COVER, the fuse is not complete (just some minor work has to be done) because I do not have the time or money to buy a turbine right now which is kinda needed to finish the fuse, my plan was to put a Evo jet booster 90 in it.
With all of the "custom" extras that I have built into this airframe and with the planned evo 90 turbine, this trainer still comes out to just under 20 lbs dry!! thats not bad considering all of the reinforcements that I have done to it. You can have plenty of hard landings with this trainer and it will still survive, plus I think with the extra weight it will be better to land and not want to float like the lighter R54's (according to all of the R-54 owners that i talked to)
I am asking $1800.00 firm for it plus shipping ( price seems high but it has all high end components, and the total that I put into it was just over $3300.00), look at the photos and if you have any questions please feel free to email me and I will be glad to answer them for you.
I do have many other build pics if interested but their pretty straight forward...
Oh, I forgot to mention that I have built the canopy hatch planning to install a clear canopy on it, but I do not know where to buy the proper material to do this.... just a heads up to any potential buyers. The main pic of the R54 shows the canopy installed WITHOUT any "clear" acrylic or pvc material installed or what ever material should be used.....
