Plane and Camera

As stated earlier I am flying a "Passive" Some have asked how I mounted the camera so here are pictures to show the plane and the mount along with one of the camera mounted.
I am using a $99 Kodak Easyshare C140 that was on sale at Canadian Tire for the low price of $49. I set the lens to infinity . Upon setup of the plane we use the aerlions stick but it is hooked to rudder. That is the only steering so that leaves the left stick control free. I plugged into that socket on the receiver and when I steer rudder to the right it activates the servo to take a picture. When you let go it normally returns to center so you do not have to click more than one time. That eliminated the idea of using retract switch.
Thanks for the great comments. I did not sell any pics I presented them to the owner of the farm as a gift.

Re: Plane and Camera

Parkie, I'm considering the Super Solution or the Heptad as my first build in 30 years. Looks like the passive is a pretty simple design. But since I'm crazy and wanna fly an handycam & a Rebel XT I'm really leaning towards the higher payload of the Super Solution.

Re: Plane and Camera

I really like Powers designs but they are totally impractical here in Toronto due to constant winds all summer, unless, I only want to fly at 7am and only some times. They can handle only 10mph or so, and he personally believes in picture taking and video only at 5mph max. Keep up the good work and show more pictures or videos!!!..
