Hangar Nine Twist Keep Fox 40 or switch out?

I just bought a hangar nine Twist RTF with a fox .40 motor installed. It looks to be in good shape, lots of compression turns over smoothly.

My question is, after reading about fox engines I am not sure if it is the best engine for me. I have the option of switching it out for any of the following. K&B .40 I know this engine and have many flights on it. Love it. OS FXi .46 Runs well off a Dead Nexstar. or a GMS .47.

If I have these engines sitting around waiting for a mount, is it worth taking the fox for a spin or will I waste too much time learning to run it and tune it?

The imagination is the dark-room in which all fears are developed.

Plane needs the OS 46 or the GMS 47. Not sure you will be happy with a 40 fox in a twist oh and you will need a 11.75x3.25 prop to go with it

My vote is for the OS 46...you can never go wrong with an OS!

Better make sure GMS is still in business before you go that way. Good engines, but if you can't get parts any longer...

I have an OS .46FXI and a GMS.47.

If you also have the GMS.47, go with that, it will turn a larger prop better than the .46FXI. The GMS.47 is a nice little powerhouse and very reliable also.

Try the APC 12.25x3.75 prop as mentioned earlier. You will be pleased.

You can fly Hitec or use the other "low tech" stuff!!
