hey guys,

i got an e-mail from HobbyCity telling me they finally got stock of the Genesis twin hull boat (1045mm), so i logged on and they got 6 in stock.....

the total price shipped was 290.00 cdn, im wondering if anyone here has tried one, and what i can expect.....? also, does anyone know where i can get a metal prop for this thing?

i have lots of 2200 mah 3s packs, and a couple of 3000 mah 4s packs, so im not sure which i will try in this thing..... prolly the 4s packs, as two 3s packs in series will prolly blow the esc.....?

this should be interesting!

Re: Just bought the "Genesis Offshore Twin Hull"

two of your 3s packs in series will blow the 3s packs
You need at least 4 (4400mah per side, 6s4p in your arrangement i suppose), then they will blow the motor and maybe that will blow the ESC as well.

i have the boat. Found stock is ok but not too much fun.
ESC is crap, motor is as good as the ESC. Stock drive hardware match the motor.

Biggest issue with drive hardware is that it is 4mm and any prop you can buy here is 3/16 so they don't fit directly.
Any octura 3/16 prop will work but you will need to cut an adapter or buy one if you are lazy.

Stock will needs 4s in series to work well, it will be ok just not super fast. Motor is so-so quality, mine ran hot.

Good prop is Octura x440 I'd say. You can find many posts about this boat on RCgoups and offshoreelectrics.

I upgraded mine with HET 700-83-1440kv and 180ESC.
Running on two 5000mah 3s is series (6s), x447 prop and what a blast!!!
Blew the 4mm cable, now ordered new 3/16 package and a new coupler ofcourse.
