Can anyone tell me the recommended c of g should be on a 50cc edge 540. It's a Mike Fritz scratchbuilt.

It probably should be somewhere near the main spar of the wing. Probably just a little ahead of the wing tube. That should be a safe starting point on most aerobatic planes.

Re: cg of a 50cc edge 540

Please don't go with the general "on the wing tube" recommendation. Because it's an Edge 540, there's a LOT more wing area out front due to the straight leading edge. I couldn't believe how far forward mine was supposed to be. It was so far forward that I actually didn't believe the manufacturer specs. I calculated it all by hand via the mean aerodynamic chord (MAC) and turns out they were right.

IMO either calculate the exact CG point or else set it up much more nose heavy than you think and do an inverted 45 upline CG test to tweak.

For reference, mine is 2.5" infront of the wing tube. Yours will be slightly different obviously.
