First time electric help

I have a used e-flite p-47. Came with engine and esc. I put a new spektrum rx in it and I just can't get it to work. The batts to the esc are good bit only the throttle comes out of the esc. Does it also power the rx?

I did get a bac but that's not turning on the rx either.

Help please

Re: First time electric help

In most cases of a small electric, the throttle wire from the ESC also supplies power to the receiver through the throttle port. DO NOT use a battery at the same time.

What kind of rx is it? Did you bind it to the transmitter?

Issues; if the rx does not turn on, it may not be bound in the case of 2.4 DSM, or you might have a bad ESC or a bad rx.

Electric is quite simple and either works right away or one of the issues above requires resolution

Re: First time electric help

First get a 4.8V battery and just using it ie-no servos or ESC plugged in to the RX, Bind the Radio to the receiver. Now that you have a good bind, remove the 4.8V battery and hook up the receiver to the plane, including the ESC into the throttle channel.

Make sure your throttle stick is all the way down. Now plug in the battery. when you plug in the battery to the ESC, the servos should power up. This tells you that you have power going to the radio. The servos should move.

You should also hear the ESC beeping its initialization code. If not, lower your throttle trim all the way. If it is still not initialized, reverse the throttle channel on the transmitter and try again. WARNING: If you do this and get the ESC to initialize, YOU MUST REBIND YOUR RADIO or else your motor will go to full power if you switch off your transmitter before unplugging the battery.

After you do what I mentioned here, post an update. If you are still having problems, we should be able to help you trouble shoot if from that point on.

Re: First time electric help

thanks for your help. Issue revolved around rebinding. Lesson learned: going back to the basics.

Thanks for your time. Some good stuff there I'll never forget.
