I feel somewhat embarassed to ask, but all my fllying has been with 3 cell lipos. I'm in the process of building a Thunder Tiger E620se helicopter. I plan on going 10S, but am unsure what is the best route to go with batteries. Should I run (2) 5S batteries in series or use a 10S stick battery. The 10S sticks are very expensive VS 2 5S lipos. What do you experianced flyers think I should use. Thanks for the advice.
I would recommend going with 2x5s simply because it's cheaper, works great, stays cooler, and the most likely your charger will handle it better. The only side note is you should always keep those two series batteries together! Don't separate them and they will be perfect
another thing you can do for safety is add EC5 connectors for the connection between the ESC and the one end of the series connection, then simply make the wrest of series/batteries all deans.
