I have a U can Do 60 with OS91FX. Inverted it was hard to start. A friend had one that the motor was upright. Didnt run right. Took mine and mounted it sideways . Purr like a kitten and starts easy . Runs great. Got 10 flights in one weekend as compared to 1or none. Id mount it sidewaqys and redrill the throttle tube, This is what worked for me. Four stroke might be different. My 5cents worth. Enjoy itGREAT PLANEto fly. Tom

Re: U-Can-Do 3D ARF plane

I have a UCanDo 3D with an OS91FX mounted inverted that I have been flying for years with absolutely no issues in starting it ever??? Inverted is the best way this engine would fit in the cowl...........If you are having trouble starting it I would think low/high end needle adjustment is not right,,,,,,,,,,

With an Upright engine the tank will be too low and the engine will starve for fuel.

I have been flying the 60 size with a .90 4 stroke invderted and have never had a starting or running problem. It sounds as if you have a needle setting issue.

Re: U-Can-Do 3D ARF plane

I have the .46 size UCANDO in which I installed an OS .55 AX two stroke. I was hesitant to purchase the plane in the first place because the engine needed to be mounted inverted and I had always avoided doing that. I bought it anyway, mounted the engine inverted and can honestly say it is one the easiest starting, best running engines I have ever owned. Never the slightest problem with close to 400 flights. Re: U-Can-Do 3D ARF plane

I hade a UCanDo 60 size, ran a Saito 100 in it inverted with no problems whatsoever, used a remote glow plug connector (home made). ran like a dream and hardly a flameout in five years.
To answer your question, nothing is impossible, so yes you could adapt it to run vertically but the work involved would not be worth the effort.
The plane is one of the nicest flying planes you could wish for, on low rates it is almost a docile trainer, at high rates well think it and it will do it.
The only "stupid question" is the one you don't ask.
