I only get nervous when I sober up and realize what I just did.

Now PLEASE don`t take this seriously.

Re: Pucker factor and shaking thumbs

I get more nervous when someone else is flying, perhaps eratically;

For my planes, I also test fly my own. I'd rather break my own planeinstead of someone else doing that for me. Nothing wrong with some flutter in the stomach once in awhile.

After all it's only balsa and some covering. Nothing some CA, epoxy and a little time can't fix. That's what's great about the hobby. If you're nervous with the plane just remind youself what it is.

Re: Pucker factor and shaking thumbs

Thanks guys...Bob, you're right, it's nothing more than wood or foam flying around. My buddy asks me to fly his planes once in a while which I really don't care for. I know that he wants my opinion but flying another man's plane makes me worry that much more.

Concentrate on breathing deeply...you will forget about being nervous, and fly better.

Re: Pucker factor and shaking thumbs

Funny - I went out this morning, after my ritual coffee, took my favorite bipe and the wind was blowing. However, I had no jitters at all and had a really fun flight. Must be the RC Gods at play...

Re: Pucker factor and shaking thumbs

I also would suggest getting the AC to where you are ready for the takeoff roll, and taking a few seconds to relax your body and take in a few deep breaths. It really does help to block out everything else and concentrate on the business at hand.
