It was a fantastic day at Humber Valley.
There must have been at least 20 pilots at one point today.
Many of the planes were 30% and larger.
Spent the better part of the day breasking in a new DL30.
Sweet engine. Can't wait to maiden the new CAP-232
Can't wait to retire.

Happy Thanksgiving

Re: Great afternoon

Same here in Anola, just east of Wpg. Have had 2 great days of flying, plus today looks just as good! I got in well over 12 flights on my cub, 6 on my Fokker, and 8 on my Champ in both day time, and at night in my large yard lit up by the yard light.

Whoo, whoo !!!!!!

Re: Great afternoon

It's been ridiculously windy here in southern Alberta for the last 4 looks like the first calm break...I'm killing some time on Rc Canada while I wait for the last pack to charge.

Re: Great afternoon

I had a gret weekend of flying. The weather here in the GTA was fantastic. I loved it. To me, it was a great Thanksgiving/flying weekend

Re: Great afternoon

Today was one of the few relatively calm days we get in "The County", and unfortunately we had a job to do that cannot be done safely in wind: putting down corrugated sheet metal on a roof. So, friend wife and I got onto it and got 'er done!

I was still able to get out to the field by about 4:00 PM and after many false starts over the last while I FINALLY got my GP Piper Cub back in the air after about three years. Talk about nervous; you would have thought it was a maiden flight or something!

However, it behaved beautifully and I got to bring it home in the same number of pieces that I took it out in. It was nice watching it accelerate out, lift its tail and run along on the mains until with just a hint of up elevator it flew off into the sky.

Just a slight breeze, almost straight down the strip, couldn't have asked for better!

Re: Great afternoon

Igot out with three other club members today. In Owen Sound, not real warm, but Ok!
Seen some jets fly, an A7 Crusader,a Panther, and Skyhawk. prop planes included a 36" Ultimate, a 50" 540 Edge. My buddy, Rob tried to fly my P40, first attempt, nosed over, broke the prop. Second attempt, up and away! Needed high elevator rates! Flew fine for 2 minutes, then on a full throttle pass, pop, ESC gone!! 70-80 mph, then nothing! Luckily the Bec still functioned, he landed with the wind, no power, really fast, and got her down in one piece!! Whoo-hhoo! If I'd been flying it, there likely would have been carnage!! Great flying Rob!!
I then flew my little 36" 540 Edge 4 times back to back, wind picking up steadily thru the flights, did you know at 29oz 540 will hover level at 1/2 throttle!
What a great day.
the Esc has already been replaced in the P40, ready to rock again! flytwice
