The tiniest bit of flux helps flow the solder on the Deans' blades. A little goes a long way and too much will cause corrosion impeding current flow. Plugging in its mate helps keep everything square too. Tin the blade and the wire then its touch n go. A little tug to insure a good bond.

I've watched Finless vids on soldering deans a 100 times, seems so easy
but its like with a commercial, you know, in real life its never that easy.
It off, you know. Last batterie I worked on, I had to leave the room
"cause I burned a dean, a finger, threw the long nose on to the wall and the batterie in the thrash can. But the heli was safe it was in the other room.
Otherwise I'm a very patient guy, trully I am
