A123 1100 receiver pack

I made up a Rx pack using 2cells from a b+d VPX pack. One of the spot welded tabs came off quite easily by accident, so I went over the others with solder, when adding the 2 Rx outputs. A little black tape and Walla.

I can balance charge, as one end plugs into the charger balancing port, after switching 2 pins in connector. I don't have the proper ends at the moment, I'll splice one in later, and have 2 power leads to Rx.

What a difference in servo speed, and power! These charge so fast, and hold charge, makes me want to toss my NiMH. I'm thinking of carving my Tx case, so I can fit three cells in there.

Re: A123 1100 receiver pack

I've got a few packs made up from VPX but I also bought A123 1100mah cells with tabs from a certain auction site and they are inexpensive and are easily made into packs. Work great on all my glow models.
Depending on your TX you can just use LIPO's (A9 9C...) and they last a long time and no self discharge.

There are all sorts of vendors for tabbed LiFe cells.

Batteryspace.com even sells packs. But, be wary of shipping charges.
