On its way from China

I just ordered the P-38 Lightning w/retracts from Hobby King. I got the California Cutie version done in the green camouflage paint scheme. This is my first foamie with retracts and dual engines. Should be here by Monday next week. Would like to maiden it before the snow flies. Sorry I said the "S" word!!! I will post some video of it flying on youtube after I get it. If anyone out there has one already, could you fill me in on any tips?

Re: On its way from China

I wanted one of these, but decided against it after I read a thread here on RCC about it. Apparently it requires lots of mods to make it okay! Look for a P-38 thread somewhere on here.

I bought the 1.4 m Spit and love it!

Re: On its way from China

There is a long thread about it in the Electric Flight section.

Re: On its way from China

Yup, read the thread. We had several issues with that plane. Once they are sorted out, it flies well. It's still one of my favourites, but being a one-piece plane, I can only bring it to the field when my kids are not coming with me. If they are coming, I cant bring it since it normally sits in the entire backseat of my small car

Re: On its way from China

Thanks guys for your assistance of what I need to do with this bird before flying it. Just checked and it is waiting at customs in Mississauga. Not bad, one week regular shipping. Will keep you up dated with my progress.
