If the radio was purchased closer to the later 1980's, it would have either a silver or gold sticker on the transmitter or transmitter module if it has a removable frequency module.

If it does not have a gold sticker, there is a good chance it would be wide band and not "legal" at a MAAC sanctioned flying field.

The receiver will also be much more likely to get interference from nearby channels as well.

Unfortunately, antiquated radio gear is out dated even if brand new. Radio gear today (epsecially used 72 mhz) is cheap - do yourself a favour and put the old radio away.

All Futaba FM transmitters were narrow band. Receivers maybe not.
