Wonderful day to fly today. A tad bit chilly but almost no wind. Charged up my 3 - 6s 4200mah packs for my X5 and headed out to my favorite place. Ahhhh...Can't ask for a better day to fly. Plugged in my 1st pack and practise on it. Not more than halfway through of my regular flight time, I heard the Tx already beeping! What the heck? Checked my Tx - battery 6.8v! Man oh man. Needless to say, I packed up early with still 2 more fully juiced up packs in my heli case.

Note to self, always check the Tx battery ahead of time.

Re: I hate it when this happens!

If you have a decent Lipo charger (ie B6 or equivalent) you should be able to charge your transmitter at the field. These chargers also have the capacity to charge NiMh and Ni-cad. When that happens to me at the field, I just charge up my TX on the spot.

Not having your transmitter charged up is bad enough. I've seen on more than one occasion a fellow flyer setup his plane only to realize that he left his transmitter at home

When I used to fly glow helis - I went to the field more than once, with a fully charged transmitter, receiver battery but found out my field box battery was too run down to turn over the engine or light the glow plug

Re: I hate it when this happens!

Well i remembered to bring my charger to top up batteries. Too bad I didnt remember to pull out of the last low level loop. On the bright side I was having so much fun I am still smiling as I go over the parts the I need to get it back together.

Re: I hate it when this happens!

Been there, done that. I forgot my fully charged battery AND transmitter at home twice. I also lost a plane on top of some big trees by forgetting to charge my transmitter.
