All I have to say is:

"kid in a candy store"

That pretty much sums it up for me.

Re: Ever Wonder WHY?

I kind of got into building by accident, literally! I had a mishap with my favorite plane at the time (quarter scale Dave Patrick Extra 330L) and I had to do a repair on the wing. I ended up having to scratch out a couple ribs and redo a bit of the aileron beveling. Unfortunately, during the repair I got bit by the bug known as building.

Next I got a Stevens Aeromodel Edge 540 kit. If you've ever wanted to try building but were a bit intimidated, start with this kit! Not only do SA models go together like balsa LEGO and give you confidence, their 540 kit is the lightest and best flying Edge in the 50" range that you'll ever own! I literally built mine in a week! I could've spent more time on the covering scheme, but it flew awesome!

After that, I decided to jump right into a Carden Yak build which I'll have to finish this winter. The reasoning behind getting the Carden was just the fact that it was a Carden. One of the best kit makers out there and I wanted my first 100cc plane to mean something to me!

I pretty much get planes that I like to fly. I'm into 3D and IMAC so I have a 50cc Wildhare Sukhoi and I'm building the 100cc Carden Yak. However, I've started thinking about getting a more relaxed flyer like a quarter-scale Cub or something like that. Basically, I get planes that interest me at the time and I'd like to have one of each type! Indoor, outdoor, 3D, EDF, relaxed, scale, etc...They all have their place and that's why we accumulate them!
