Tail clutch? belt drive vs gear drive

I have seen a few videos of this mod, but they are in chinese and don't describe how they made the clutch. I am intrested because when I do get a bigger heli I would like to try this devise. You see I had a honey bee king when I first started to try flying and was killing the tail drive gears constantly. Coincidentally I realized I was no were near ready to fly that heli so I sold it. And it seems alot of bigger helis are gear driven. Would I be better off finding something belt driven or would I still have issues if the tail blades were to strike the ground on landing.

Re: Tail clutch? belt drive vs gear drive

Rather than re-hash and old subject, this was already discussed several times, the last one being here:

HINT: At the top of the section (not this thread but the "ROTARY WING" section), you will see a link that reads: "Search this forum" Click that and enter the keywords to what you want to learn and read to your heart's content

[I did exactly that and it took me 2 seconds to find the "Belt Vs Shaft" thread that I posted above]
