Re: Wanted props

Don't you guys ever throw anything out? The oldest prop I have was probably broken last year. . . Cheers - John M. (only kidding - althought a definite non-collector, I was very impressed with Bill's engine display at our Christmas Get To-gether - when someone who is knowledgable explains what the article displayed is all about, suddenly things take on a new meaning and interest)

Re: Wanted props

No! Some of us don't throw anything out!

Have an old white Top Flight nylon 12/4 prop that I still use on .40 trainers. Even loaned it out to a kid for a year or so - can't break it - just folds over and comes back to shape with time! Or if you are in a hurry, throw it in a pot of boiling water for a bit, presto, good as new!

Used to beat them up pretty bad on control line planes, very few ever broke!
Had to be a pretty awesome wreck to make the prop unusable!

Re: Wanted props

Throw stuff OUT? Eeeek! I built a rubber-powered model (plan from the 40s) recently and went through my Stuff, and found a bandsaw-cut prop blank AND a set of original pine wheels. Plan, prop, wheels, all from the same era... Throw stuff out? Maybe not.
