Hi Stephen

Since you are new to the hobby I would suggest that you look at a good trainer rather than a scale kit.

You are so close to Ottawa (unless there is more than one town named Almonte) that you should visit the new Great Hobbies store in Ottawa.

Pinnacle hobbies in Markham is very well stocked but a fair distance from the 401.

Re: Hobby shops in Toronto and S. Ontario?

Thanks everyone, this will keep me busy for a while.

philipa_240sx, your suggestion is going to be hard to pass up, being a apple fritter guy and all. Might even check out the hobby shop while I'm there.

RB and dialtonehunter, I'm with you on Leading Edge. I make that a stop every time I'm in Kingston. Friendly bunch of guys. Hoping to make it out the the giant rally down that way next summer.

Ken, thanks for your suggestion. I've got a SIG Kadet kit on the workbench right now (thanks to Leading Edge for that find). Building's my thing. I was drawn to this hobby because I wanted to build a static Norseman, scale and big, then figured if I was going to do that, I might as well learn how to fly. So, here I am. Gonna take it slow. Don't expect to be pond-hopping with a Norseman anytime soon.

Thanks again for all of your suggestions.
