Hobby Lobby 6 Radio

I have a vintage Hobby Lobby 6 transmitter and receiver. It looks like it has never been used. There are 4 servos, rexeiver, transmitter, switch, original batteries, and charging cords. Not a scratch on anything. Does anyone know if there are collectors who would be interested in this system and if it is worth anything?

Re: Hobby Lobby 6 Radio

Any ideas of the date? Maybe in small print at the bottom of the instruction sheet or somewhere? Hope the battery packs haven't leaked and caused corrosion because it certainly sounds a conversation piece.

Re: Hobby Lobby 6 Radio

I think there is an ad at the back of the MAAC magazine every month looking for older radios.

Re: Hobby Lobby 6 Radio

Pictures are always helpful to anyone who is interested in collecting one.

Telling us what frequency it is on would be really helpful to identify its age.

Older radios with just 72.080 or 72.240 or similar are the original 72mhz band (no longer used)

Early 1991 radios to canada were even numbered only.

"Gold" stickered radios came out later and could be on either odd or even channels.

Does your radio have a gold or silver sticker on it?

Re: Hobby Lobby 6 Radio

Cliff,
These old propo radios really have no "value" in terms of money. Collectors want the early, pre-propo stuff. I had a complete, new 1974 MRC 5 channel set I couldnt even give away. The guy in the MAAC magazine didnt even bother to reply to my offer to basically give it away for the cost of shipping.

Old galloping ghost sets, single channel and other stuff like that seem to be wanted by guys. But the 1960's and early 1970s proportional stuff is like an old stereo... no one wants them. AT least in my experience.

ANy "hobby lobby" radio will have just a two coloured flag. Like orange and white, brown and white, blue and white etc.

These are WAY before 1991. Most likely 1970's.
