Re: 2010 Recap

My goodness John, 25 jugs of fuel? Thats an addiction, you need help! LOL I wish I had that much time, but your kids are grown up aren't they.

I went thru, 6 jugs of fuel and built a few planes also. I flew my Electric pylon racers tons, (nonslimers).

Assembled 3 arfs- sp400 pylon racers
Scratch built 2- Hurrikane Q-500, Screamin Demon delta 25 size
Short kit - Shark .15
kit build- F-20 prop Jet, working on OMP profile Yak kit right now
amongst maintenace and minor fixes too.

Can't get enough!

Re: 2010 Recap

I only went through half a jug of fuel but an awful lot of electrons have been pushed back and forth in my batteries.

Wow you've been buisy...sounds like your bragging a bit!..lol

this summer I:

Helped the gang add on to our shack at the field,
Mowed the runways, taxiways, and pits about 20 times,
Repaired the lawn tractor and built a new exhaust system for it,
bought my first heli and flew it,
burned 8 jugs of glow fuel
assembled an ARF (120 size Zero fighter)
burned 3 gallons of gas (in the planes, not the lawn mower)
built 7 Coro combat planes in one day with the gang here in Dryden
Built 6 combat planes with the fellows from Kenora Ont,
Built 13 combat planes in one day with the gang in Gimli,
Hosted a fun fly at our field,
Hosted a Float fly at a local fishing camp,
Instructed new pilots nearly every Wed.
bought a bunch of stuff from the classifieds here on RCCanada
travelled to a float fly in Kenora (1.5 hr drive one way)
Traveled to Rainy River for a fun fly (4.2hr drive one way)
traveled to Thunder Bay for a float fly (4.0 hr drive one way)
Traveled to Gimli for the Gimli Modelfest event (5.2 hrs drive one way) and got rained out!
Traveled to Gimli again for the Warbirdt over Gimli event (5.2hrs drive one way)
almost made the first flight on my Giant scale Yak 3 (long story)
Traveled to Kenora for a fun fly (1.5hrs one way)
got 20 or 30 "Kills" flying combat,
Had 8-10 Mid Air Collisions in combat (including on 4 mid air's in a single flight, knocking all of em' out of the sky and staying up there!)
No crashes (not counting the mid air collisions during combat)
Drove a total (roughly) of 56.6 hrs for flying events and build events (wow...never really add it up before...that's a lot!

and made even more great friends in this hobby all across the Zone and the country...

Who has more fun than we do??

Bill

Re: 2010 Recap

Wow you guys are busy in the hobby, I guess you are retired! In my case I built a nice Pitts from scratch, I repaired 3 planes, burned about 6 jugs of glow, teached 2 new members, had 2 crashes, one by pilot mistake and the other by faulty switch. Flew on floats for the first time, took care of our field all season. And I managed to make around a hundred flights. For a night shift worker that's not bad. Next year should be different since I'm retiring in 2011.

Re: 2010 Recap

Hmmm....

I bought a $50 toy heli that led to me ordering a DX7, Super Cub training plane and Phoenix 2.5!

We'll see what happens next year!

Hello Bill
Your combat planes, are they all coroplast? Do you have plans we can use? I saw a fellow this summer with an electric coropusher, is that so?
Thanks
JP
