What kind of engine are you running? Is it gas, nitro or electric?
I used to have an Extra with a 50cc engine in it with a 72Mhz system as well and using PCM modulation.

I flew it several times without a glitch and one day out of the blue, my whole radio system got interfered. I didn't crash the plane, I noticed that when I throttled down the problem went away and at full throttle the problem was back.

I solved the problem doing two things. I replaced the module and I went 2.4Ghz FASST

That was the last time I had a radio issue in any gasser.

A friend of mine in our local club had the same problem with his, but his airplane was a nitro engine. It was his on-off switch in the plane. It seems that the connection was ok but at full throttle when the vibration had a higher frequency the connection was intermitent.

Re: radio trouble

For what it is worth
I had a similar issue with a 72mhz Hitec receiver this season.
At first it worked just fine then one flight I started having issues.
By killing the engine I was able to land.
I replaced the receiver and the issues were resolved.
I sent the receiver crystal and all back to Hitec RCD.
The invoice stated a cold solder joint.
The repair was completed at no charge.
