For the mylar, you can try this. I went to a place in Sarnia that does plastic lettering to get the numbers and lettering for my Spirit of Louis, I gave him the sheet of dacals from a 1/72 plastic kit, and told him how large I wanted them, and he produced some exact to the size I needed...... Also, He supplied me with a sheet or two of plastic to make the winshield and windowws for a 1/4 scale P11.If you find a dealer in your area that does that sort of thing,(plastic stick on lettering), he will have all the stuff you will need from lettering to winshield , to making templates... Al.....

Re: Transferring cutting patterns from plans to balsa

I just print on plain paper, spray the back with spray glue, and stick it on the wood.after I cut out the shape, and finished the sanding etc,I brush on lacquer thinner on the paper.let it soak a few secs, and the paper just lifts off
If you want to transfer the printing alone...brush wood sealer on the print face, and spray glue the balsa...then press the paper to the balsa, printed face to wood.Alex

Re: Transferring cutting patterns from plans to balsa

Another approach is to go to a sewing or quilt materials supplier and ask for something like "plastic quilt pattern tracing sheets." I got a load of the stuff from my local shop for less than a dollar a sheet. This is an almost transparent material with enough surface "grab" to allow the use of a Sharpie felt tip pen to transfer the parts' shape in as much detail as you want. Then cut them out and there you have it: perfect templates. Good luck, Dzl

Re: Transferring cutting patterns from plans to balsa

i went to a copy place and got the whole plan copied. held up the copies & plans up to the light to make sure they were the same (worked on copiers so knew the 2% differences )
took the photocopies and cut them out. glued cutouts to sheet styrene (1mm) and cut that out. have a set of templates for favorite model for under 20$ (good thing too, had a banana fuse issue with the first attempt. working on second one now)

hope that helps
