Eagle 2 Plastic Wing Tip Installation

Have just installed the plastic wing tips on the model. The bottom joint was no problem since it is a flat surface to flat surface joint. Little bit of weight on the top of the wing during the curing did the trick. The top surface is another story. I have a gap about 1/32" to 1/16" between the edge of the wing tip and the surface of the wing after gluing. Not sure how to address this. Can I apply heat to the plastic wing tip to mold it to fit better then add glue. Would I be better to just fill the gap with glue/epoxy ?? to seal it and make a fillet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would not use the heat, you might deform the tip. Either epoxy or even a bead of latex calk will do the trick. Do not use silcone calk.

Re: Eagle 2 Plastic Wing Tip Installation

I just did the exact same job a couple weeks ago on Eagle 2 I'm finishing up for a buddy. I got the tops on nice, but the bottom was the problem. I ended filling the gaps with Pacer Canopy glue... seemed like the CA was holding the wingtip on good enough right at the edge, the Pacer glue dries clear and fills alright. Those wingtips don't fit the greatest though. I used clamps wherever they wouldn't slip off while gluing them on with medium CA. Good luck!

Canopy glue works well for it.
