Well, in any case it's an honour to "know" an ex-Sabre jock. I was working in the tower here 2 years ago when Hawk 1 did its first practise flights with the Tutor. When it broke out of the formation and started its solo routine, I almost wet my pants.
From the manual of Air Traffic Control - Definitons: "Separation is that condition which exists when two or more aircraft fail to collide."
