Re: watch your switches

With cold hands I turned the power switch off on my Harvard II first flight rather than elevator trim, so I know how this can happen.

Luckily caught it in time.
I know there's money in aviation........I put it there!

Re: watch your switches

Terribly unfortunate but a good reminder. I saw the caution about "graphic video" and feared the worst...I'm glad at least it didn't result in an injury.

Re: watch your switches

Ouch for sure!

When you are down on the deck, even one small mistake can be fatal! Altitude is your friend, but then, what fun is that!

You can fly Hitec or use the other "low tech" stuff!!

Re: watch your switches

At least he fessed up that it was his fault instead of blaming an "atmospheric phenom". That's the only way that we learn.

Re: watch your switches

I put my ignition cutoff switch on a rotary dial (JR 12x) exactly for this reason. It would be almost impossible to accidently rotate the dial enough to shut off the engine. Sure was a nice flight up to that point though
