I'll expand on what was said in post #9.

If you buy the Spectra Pro module, the Aurora screen will allow you to select PPM/P (FM positive shift for JR or Airtronics FM 72Mhz receivers), PPM/N (FM negative shift for Hitec or Futaba 72Mhz receivers), or QPCM (Hitec specific) as shown on page 57 of the manual. It will allow you to also select the 72Mhz frequency to use.

If you get an Optic 6 fixed 72Mhz frequency module on a specific frequency, and wire the harness as described, you can select select PPM/P (FM positive shift for JR or Airtronics FM 72Mhz receivers on that channel), PPM/N (FM negative shift for Hitec or Futaba 72Mhz receivers on that channel), or QPCM (Hitec specific) as shown on page 57 of the manual. However, you can not select the frequency - you will only be able to use the frequency of the module you have install.

The Optic 6 Spectra 72Mhz frequency select module for the Optic 6 will NOT work reliably in the Aurora 9 from my experience.

Remember, you will have to use the metal 72Mhz antenna from the Optic 6 in the Aurora 9 when using the 72Mhz module.

Caution, if you are not experienced with soldering and wiring cables you should not attempt to wire and solder a harness yourself, if you make a mistake you could damage your radio. Any modifications you do to your radio will not be covered by Hitec warrantee and you do so at your own risk.

The proper Spectra Pro for the Aurora 9 is now available from Tower Hobbies on sale for $59.99, Hitec part number 23772. Hitec was suppose to be shipping the part at the end of April to Towers and Towers is now accepting orders for when they arrive. The Spectra Pro will allow shift selecting and frequency selecting as shown in the Aurora 9 manual on pages 57 and 58. I have a Spectra Pro module on order from them.

I hope this helps.

Do you have an Aurora 9?
