rebuilt shocks.....

I've just cleaned out my shocks and rebuilt them. This is my first time doing this and it went well.

My question is if i don't have any lubricant for the shaft or seals; will it do any damage if it's dry?
I've got them all clean and dry right now awaiting fluid.

Re: rebuilt shocks.....

Aren't you filling the shock body with oil to dampen them? The seals should be lubed naturally when you put the shafts in, just dip the tip of the shaft in shock oil before you insert to help avoid ripping the seals.

Might help to know exactly what shocks you're talking about though...

Re: rebuilt shocks.....

I've rebuilt the stock shocks on my Revo 3.3. I used the shock fluid to lubricate the seals and shaft.
Next time I will be getting green slime tho.
