I can't seems to find logical difference between FX and FXi engine series, can anyone explain it better, i'm assuming it's not power difference as it's in between AX, FX and LA series of same model engines....

Re: Whats difference between OS46FX and OS46FXi?

Hmmmm, Looks like they do share the same piston/sleeve. But they do not share the same head, crank, bearings or case........

All I could seem to find comparing the parts listings. OS doesn't even list the manual for the FXi..... not that I could find, anyways.

Here's a link to the Parts Listings/Manuals:

OS 46 FXi

Re: Whats difference between OS46FX and OS46FXi?

the FXi is the engine that comes on the Nexstar trainer

it may have:
low compression head,
plastic high speed needle valve housing and backplate to fit
desiderantes meliorem patriam

Re: Whats difference between OS46FX and OS46FXi?

I was told that the "i" prefix in the FXi stands for "broken in" and that the FX and FXi were of the same. And that the newer AX has slightly higher compression and a tad more hps of around .05hp than the .46 FX or FXi.

I still have the .46FXi from my 1st NexSTAR and run it in my Ultrastick 40, it is still one of the nicest running motors in my whole fleet.

You can fly Hitec or use the other "low tech" stuff!!
