IMO I would take the Mas Air prop off and put an APC on and go flying.

Webra speed 40 + Patriot = Good times!

I keep having the same mechanical problem. I've got a loose nut on the transmitter!

Re: GP Patriot 40 with Webra Speed 40

Well, I have flown the Patriot a couple times now with the Webra Speed 40. It flew well, but the speed was somewhat lethargic and it just seemed to be underpowered on takeoffs to say the least.

So I put an OS .55AX in it with an 11x6 APC prop and I will be giving that a try hopefully this weekend. Prop to ground clearance is an issue, I may have to go down to a 10x7 or 10x8, but I will try thr 11x6 first. I had to add a bit more tailweight to balance with the .55AX, but the extra power should easily compensate for that.

The Speed 40 flew it fine but more power and speed is needed to get it airbourne.... sure ate up a lot of runway before it built up enough speed to lift off.

I will report back after the weekend with the results...... hopefully she is still in one piece!

You can fly Hitec or use the other "low tech" stuff!!
