Axial .28 Green Head Idle issue

Maybe i'm doing it wrong, i bought this motor used from another member here. I tried to fire it up yesterday the motor running super high revs like a B** and eventually stalls out. Today I got it to run lower when the slide carb fully closed. I can't seem to find the right spot, does anyone else have this problem or does anyone know what the factory setting is for this Axial motor?

Re: Axial .28 Green Head Idle issue
It will do that if there is no load on it. I assume it is a car motor. It needs to either have a propeller on it which would be tricky or run in the car and the carb adjusted then. I haven't played with the cars for 30 yrs. but that is the drill. I hope you didn't damage it by over revving. It sounds great though, doesn't it? Could be an expensive thrill. Maybe get someone to help from nearby.
